Introducing the Tab S9 Series: Thin and Powerful Tablets
The eagerly awaited Tab S9 series from Samsung has finally arrived, and it’s making waves in the tablet market. With its ultra-thin design, upgraded display, and powerful performance, these tablets are set to impress. Let’s take a closer look at the features and specifications that make the Tab S9 series stand out.
A Slim and Stunning Display
One of the most notable updates in the new Tab S9 series is the thinner design. Compared to its predecessor, the Tab S8, the Tab S9 is approximately 0.4 mm slimmer, measuring at just 5.9 mm. This reduction in thickness is due in part to the transition from IPS or IPS level technology to Dynamic AMOLED 2x, which not only results in a thinner display but also offers adaptive refresh rates ranging from 60 Hz to 120 Hz.
Additionally, the Tab S9 series features a Fashion Booster feature on the display. This means that when using the tablet outdoors in bright sunlight, the brightness of the display automatically adjusts to ensure optimal visibility, even in dark areas. The bezel above the screen houses the selfie camera, while the back of the tablet is equipped with either a 12 MP Ultra Wide camera (for Tab S9) or a 12 MP White and 12 MP Ultra Wide camera (for Tab S9 Ultra).
Sleek Design and Enhanced Audio
In terms of design, the Tab S9 series shares similarities with its predecessor. On the top side, you’ll find the power button, volume buttons, microphone, and SIM tray. The right side houses dual speakers and a USB-C connector, while the left side features two more speakers and a microphone. At the bottom, you’ll find the magnetic PIN for connecting to a keyboard case, as well as two small rubber pads. All four speakers on the tablet support Dolby Atmos, and the devices proudly display the AKG logo on the back.
An improvement in the Tab S9 series is the enhanced audio quality. With a larger size (15), the tablets produce even more powerful and immersive sound. These tablets are ideal for not only casual use but also for enjoying movies and music.
Aesthetic Changes and Impressive Features
One notable change in the Tab S9 series compared to the S8 series is the design resemblance to the S21 smartphone series. The area around the cameras no longer has a black frame, and the stylus pen also ditches the black color. Instead, there is a elongated recess near the cameras. The stylus pen from the Tab S9 and Tab S10 series also supports bidirectional charging, which means it can be attached in reverse without any issues. The Tab S9 Ultra comes with two 13 MP cameras with autofocus and an 8 MP Ultra Wide camera, while the Tab S9 features a single 13 MP camera with autofocus.
Furthermore, both tablets come in three color options: cream, gravite, and gravity. However, in Indonesia, the gravity or black color option may not be available. Additionally, the Tab S9 series marks the first time that Samsung tablets, including the stylus pen, have an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance.
