Lets start out with the Zenbook Pro 16X OLED as its what Im personally most interested in out of the lot.. The first thing that this laptop made me think of was their Duo series gaming laptops, as the back section raises up by 7 degrees when you open the lid, except instead of a second screen its the keyboard that lifts up.. Not only does this give us a better angle for typing, but this design also improves thermals as 30. More cool air can be pulled in directly underneath the keyboard, and this in combination with the vapor chamber, cooler will result in better performance.. There are front facing speakers on either side of the keyboard and, of course, its got per key RGB lighting for customization., The 16 1610 touchscreen has a 4K OLED panel, so expect amazing, colors brightness and contrast perfect for creators. And speaking of creators. A slimmer version of the physical dial pad that ASUS introduced last year is present.. This lets you quickly swap between different options in creator. Applications like Adobe, Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator or Lightroom.. As for other specs, the ZenBook Pro 16X OLED is available with a big battery up to a 14 core 20 thread Intel Core i9 12900H processor and Nvidia RTX 3060 graphics, pretty good, considering its a 16.9mm thin machine., Combined with a 140 watt power limit its packing. Some power, despite still being a pretty portable machine. It weighs in at 2.4kg and has a full CNC aluminum alloy finish so expect it to feel great too.

. The port selection is looking good too. The left has the power input USB 3.2 Gen, 2 Type, A port and two Type C Thunderbolt 4 ports, both of which offer DisplayPort output and can be used to charge the laptop. While the right has a fast SD Express card slot, 3.5mm audio combo jack and HDMI 2.1 output. Next up weve got the Zenbook Pro Duo. 14.. I have covered the older version of this a couple of years ago, but the new 2022 model is looking even better.. Like the previous laptop, the back section rises up when you open the lid which improves thermals, but instead of lifting the keyboard, it lifts up a second touch screen which can be used for interacting with content.. Here we can see the older model on the left and the new 2022 version on the right.. The newer model raises the lower screen on a better angle for viewing, which also means less of a gap between the two screens., So, basically its just a more seamless design.. I think the less that youre actually going to notice that gap. The better., Not only is the 14.5 1610 touch screen OLED with a resolution above 1440p, but its also got a 120Hz refresh rate, so combined with the RTX 3050 Ti graphics and up to Intel core i9 12900H processor, this small laptop could absolutely handle some light gaming.. This is a massive upgrade compared to last years model, which was limited to a quad core processor.

Seriously, going from 4 cores 8 threads to 14 cores 20 threads is a massive difference and not to mention the better graphics and high refresh OLED, screen.. Sure youll probably be able to get more out of the same processor in a thicker and larger laptop, but even still in this new smaller 14 inch design, ASUS are saying that it can achieve a 2.6x higher Cinebench score. So yeah definitely way more power is possible in the same size compared to just one generation ago. Dont forget this is all in a laptop that weighs less than 1.7kg or 3.7lb thanks to the magnesium aluminum chassis and 18mm thickness.. In addition to two Thunderbolt 4 Type C ports, a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type, A port, HDMI, 2.0 and 3.5mm audio combo jack weve also again got the new SD Express card reader, so much faster possible speeds for creators compared to older SD standards., And this year the Hdmi, SD and power input are found on the back, which I personally prefer, as it means those larger and bulkier cables stay out, the back and out of the way. So if you need more screen real estate in a super portable machine, then the ZenBook Pro Duo 14 is definitely worth checking out. Seriously. There just arent a whole lot of other options. If you want two screens in one laptop., Next up weve got the new ZenBook Pro Flip 15, and this one is interesting because its using Intels new Arc graphics – and I really cant – wait to see how these compare against both AMDs and Nvidias GPUs.

. Its still available with some impressive specs, considering the thinner and lighter design of the machine and as you might be able to tell from the product name the screen on this one can flip around the full 360 degrees, allowing you to also use it as a tablet.. This one also has a 120Hz OLED touch screen with a resolution higher than standard 1440p seriously. Its finally great to see these high refresh rate OLED screens becoming available., The Zenbook pro 15 Flip has a USB Type, A port, HDMI, 2.0 output and MicroSD slot on the left. Then, on the right, weve got the power button, two Type C: Thunderbolt: 4 ports, a 3.5mm, audio combo jack and the power input up the back. And the 4th new model were going to look at today is the new Zenbook S 13 OLED. So yet another OLED model, Unlike the previous laptops, this one is AMD based going up to their new Ryzen 7 6800U 8 core 16 thread processor, with RDNA 2 graphics., Seriously, RDNA 2 graphics in a 13 laptop. Can anyone say portable gaming, I mean obviously its not designed as a gaming laptop but still kind of cool.. The 67Wh battery is a decent size for a 13 laptop and combined with the new Ryzen chip Id expect some pretty impressive battery life out of this one.. Again, like the other laptops and as per the name, this one has an OLED touch screen, so excellent, colors, brightness and contrast even in this smaller 13.

3 size.. Although not a tablet like the flip model, the screen still goes right back 180 degrees for sharing.. This one weighs just 1.1kg or 1.0kg without the touch screen version and is less than 15mm thick, so both super lightweight and portable., Its so small that it only has Type C ports. So its powered entirely with a Type C charger which further increases the level of portability., So some interesting new Zenbook designs from ASUS this year. Personally, I think Im most interested in the Pro 16X OLED, but let me know which of these models youre most interested in down in the comments.
