AllDoCube KNote 8 Unboxing & Hands-on recensione. Tablet di Windows Core M3-7Y30 2-in-1
So this is the KNote 8 si tratta di un 13.3 pollici Windows 10 tablet that has a fully laminated screen on there. With a resolution of 2560 da 1440 it’s powered by an Intel Core m3 7Y30, so that should give us some reasonable power, a lot more powerful than the typical Intel Celeron, the Apollo 8, that I commonly review. This is about twice. The power of this it’s got. Eight gigabytes of RAM, che è bello da vedere 256 gigabyte di spazio di archiviazione. You can buy an optional keyboard for it, which I happen to have right here to unbox and check out and a stylus. Now the stylus I don’t currently have so I’ll start off here with the power supply, so this is individually boxed, che è insolito. Normally they come within the actual box of the tablet and you can see. It’S got the two prong style, e questo è valutato per 12 Volt 2.5 Amplificatori, and it has that three millimeter plug on the end of it, so it’ll be positive in the middle and negative on the outside. But you should also be able to charge this tablet with type C, with the type C port on it, but I’ll check that out in this video. So the keyboard is known as the model number C D K. 11 don’t know why they’ve called it that – and it is a backlit keyboard, so it’s a type cover style so similar to like a Microsoft, Superficie, Pro 3 o il 4, and you can see there’s the keyboard shortcuts and it does have gestures.
According to this information guide here, so the keyboard is actually looking really good. The build quality is excellent. It’S right up there now the keys themselves. They have a matte plastic, the paint job you can see, that’s gray and here’s the shortcut there. You can see on the Zed there, so you have to use only function, Zed there to get the backlit keyboard to turn that on and the touch pad is of reasonable size. It has a smooth feel to it and clicky left and right mouse buttons. So we’ve got shortcuts here for pretty much everything you can think of at least we’ve got the home page up and down and in keys here, delete right there and also a Print Screen button which I real like to have controls here for these screen brightness as Well and then volume and media control, so now the travel on these keys seems quite good, but it looks like the keyboard does not actually have another level to prop it up. So normally there’s another like magnets in here, so you can clip it in and then prop it up to another level, but I’ll show you what the keyboard looks like attached to the tablet of course, but before I show you them together, I just wanted to show You, the underside of it so it’s, made again with this matte coated rubber to it now, let’s take a look. What we get inside the box so rather large tablet, Naturalmente,, 13.
3 inches, and it feels rather heavy but I’ll put that too aside for just a second and have a look, what else we get in here. So hopefully this says a USB 3 hub in here. That would be nice and I can see this is just for obviously instruction manuals leaflet. Whatnot, I don’t, look and see what we get so k, Nota, 8 and possibly all of us is in Chinese. Sì, it is so there’s just outlining where the buttons are, what the ports own everything like that is pretty straightforward and lastly, nella casella, we’ve got a Type C: 2, USB 3 Delta. OK, so just quickly check the weight of it before we have a look at the build of the tablet, so it’s one point: Zero 5 chili. While that is quite heavy for a tablet and then, Naturalmente,, the keyboard which most people would probably have with them. And that brings the total up to one point: four four kilos so rather heavy for a tablet. So taking a look at the thickness now of it, there’s a course with the keyboard so that’s, 16 millimeters and then without that keyboard on it it’s 10 Millimetri, which is not bad at all for a corium powered tablet. So you can see the tablet: it’s got rather large, bezels on it down the bottom. We have the poco port, Naturalmente,, that’s for the keyboard, and then we have a camera at the top.
So this camera at the top here this is 2 megapixels and either side a little bit hard to make out on camera. Here there are two little holes, so that’s jewel ray microphones, which is great to see here. Quindi, si spera, the sound quality should be good when recording or using the webcam and on the back there’s. Anche, un 5 megapixel autofocus camera on the left side is where you’ll find all the ports. Allora, firstly, we have dcn for charging of course, then type c. Usb 3.1, so their supports data, video and charging. I will check that out on this video 3.5 jack per cuffie millimetrico. Questo, Naturalmente,, is a micro SD card slot and then that little grill you can see towards the bottom. That is one of the two loudspeakers. That is side facing ones. speriamo, sono, not gon na be super weak and bad. Like the K, note was so we have metal volume up and down and power buttons. They have originally a good feel to them, non male a tutti. Now this here, the frame, this part of the frame is actually made out of plastic. So this part here in this part here so the whole frame around it – is made out of plastic. Tuttavia, the rear material. So this right here that is metal, which has got a plastic protector on its to stop it from getting scratched up in the factory and in transit and you’ll, also notice that, where the hinge comes up, if I can get it up, there’s a little gap on Either side to get your fingernail and, and then that comes up – and you see this hinge mechanism as well – this is also made out of metal and overall, the build quality does feel decent.
This part here again is metal, so the kickstand is a multi position one, but it doesn’t actually recline back that far so it’s, definitely not an surface pro territory. There that’s the maximum angle you can get, which I feel probably most people would use this angle right here, so it’s a shame that it doesn’t go right back if it could go right back then that we’ve better, Naturalmente,, with a stylus use, so I’ll just Show you now how it docks in with the keyboard. There are magnets there, but it doesn’t clip in as good as some other keyboards. You have to give it a little bit of a helping hand there. So I’ve just powered it on and gone straight into the BIOS. This gives you good idea of those large bezels. This has so with a sixteen by nine screen and the weight of this tablet. You do need some bezel around it, but it would be nice if they trim down perhaps the bezels on either side and made it a little smaller. So here are the BIOS. You can see that it is in fact fully unlocked, che è davvero buono. I’Ve just had a quick look at this, so we have power limits disabled on this, so you can see it whatever Parliament you want, but of course do this with a lot of caution, because if it gets too hot, it will overheat any definitely just reseeding or Something like that, so you have to be very careful.
I don’t know the thermals on this at the moment, so I don’t know, if it’s possible, to tweak those power limits to help boost performance, hold the turbos a lot higher for longer, and one other thing also that I noticed is there’s Thunderbolt configuration here, but it Is disabled, so I don’t know where their neighboring. This is going to actually work, probably won’t, because I don’t believe this has thunderbolt. Sorry hardware on here will be nice of it did and your various other settings in here. A lot of these, Naturalmente,, can get you into trouble, so I recommend just not touching them at all and leaving it but it’s great to have these options here so here’s, a quick look at that keyboard now backlit and all you can do – is just simply Turn the backlighting on or off now, è, not an area of the camera. At the moment it is actually a darkish blue, almost purple like backlight on this, which is a nice change here, and it does look good it’s sufficient enough, but it’s not super bright. The back lights on them and each key is individually lit up here. You can actually see the two LEDs behind most of the keys there. At the current angle, I have my camera now straight away. I’Ve discovered something rather stupid. Penso che sia, probably a design flaw. Perhaps or just the way, the PCB layout is with a micro SD card reader, but a little bit hard to make out on camera here.
So what’s happened is I’ve accidentally somehow pushed the micro SD card in between the rear case, and then the actual slot is inside there. Now you can see just how bad this design has. This should not happen. This is a real crappy micro SD card slot. You can see my micro SD card I’ve managed to get it using a needle to about here. Hopefully now I can just pull that out, but it’s still gon na be a real struggle, so this slot, the design of it, is bad, really bad or it’s. So luckily, disaster avoided here, but have a look at this. You can see how, where the SD card reader is look there’s a gap either side, so you have to use the inner one and somehow, when I push it in here, it went to the outer gap. lì, which is actually the gap between the outer part of the middle of the card reader and then the case right here. So this is really bad and if I push it in like this, hopefully that’s going to get it in there properly. I have a little bit scared now to put micro SD cards in this tablet. ok, so let’s take a look at the screen, so first impressions it’s, very good it’s, a lot better than the keynote screen. It’S much bio right now, I’m on one perceived brightness and I’ve just turned down the ISO of my camera. So I can capture the screen correctly.
Now the screen responds and the touch accuracy to me, it’s really good. Questo non è affatto male. I can minimize maximize things perfectly fine and just having a look at the colors to the reproduction on the screen is really good, deep, blacks because it’s fully laminated, you know going to get reflections or sometimes with the non laminated panels. Those blacks often look gray. Instead of a nice deep black – but here you can see good now these this is a very saturated red naturally, Effettivamente, when I took this photo, this was with a samsung galaxy note, 4 and yeah it’s coming out exactly how I remember it and all of these Volkswagens here this is looking good, a nice screen, so we have a look at a few other things here with the tablet. So we’ve got enter wireless AC city 165. This is a very common chipset it’s, not a bad chipset. It gets a maximum normally of around about 400 megabit al secondo, depending, Naturalmente,, on your wireless router that you have. You need wireless AC for that too. Now let’s the SSD drive as a setter is hiss D, so it doesn’t mention what brand of SSD it is. But I know from experience that when it just says, SATA SSD that’s are gon na be for C or B when brand. So these are manufacturers in China that manufactures these SSDs. It will be 22 da 42, m2 spec the drive – and these are the speeds you can see right here.
So these are actually fine perfectly fine. I mean the writes aren’t the fastest. You will see for SATA 3 Spec, but the MDOT twos spec tends to be a little bit slower because they are smaller. Now you get free space, 220 Gigabyte, and you can see here that it’s telling us that it’s got 10 punti di contatto. The screen and pin support, but unfortunately I don’t have the stylus for it, but it will be a stylus that’s 1024 levels of pressure sensitivity so very similar to the stylus that is used by the Chui, a chai 13, Per esempio, è, not a bad stylus. I don’t know whether I will be reviewing it or actually get that stylus, but it certainly won’t be good as the Wacom styluses or the intricacies you’ll find on the Microsoft Surface product, Per esempio. I one more positive here. Allora, while ram is running in dual channels, they’re going to get the full memory bandwidth and the speed as well 1866 megahertz is what it should read so that’s better than some coring trees. They set the RAM to only 1600 megahertz. You missing out on a little bit of speed here, but not here at least now. One thing I wanted to point out here with the screen like okay: I’m running it at 100, brightness and you’re – probably thinking why are you doing that I’m having an issue with the camera of my camera, at least that if I set this, for example to 100? Sorry to 0: this is really super done, che è grande, but look what happens around 25 50 Sei, seeing this shimmering and flickering now.
Questa è una certa larghezza dell'impulso. Modulation is causing this now it’s not happening in person. So me looking at the screen at different angles. I cannot see any flickering at all on the screen. It’S just happening on camera here, and I also know that the maximum brightness I did measure it with my little meter that I have here, and it comes out at a very healthy 415 Lux, che è davvero buono. This is a massive step up from the 220 lux that I had on the K. Note the first version the 11.6 inch version of this tablet with the Apollo Lake, so I’ve just been keeping an eye on the battery while I’ve been using it. It did come out with a hundred percent battery, and here you can see that I’m down to well. What are we now? Eighty eight percent and I’ve only had it on for eight minutes at the moment that since 92 per cento, but of course this is 100 percent of screen, brightness and it’s reporting a total time of that battery being around 3 ore e 47 minuti, which I happen to Believe so, speriamo, with the brightness down we’re, probably only looking at about five hours, maybe six but the coins freeze, they tend to not have very good battery life. It seems to be the case with all of them that I have reviewed and you see the battery capacity right here, quindi è 41 watt hours so that works out to be, Credo, nei dintorni di 11000 milliamp hours the size of the battery that’s in here, which Seems fair enough, but they could have put something a little bit larger and considering.
Questo è un 13.3 pollici tablet, so I’ve plugged in my have it type C hubby, and I can confirm that I’m getting charging display out up to 4k 30 Hertz and data all at the same time. So that is good to see no problems with that port. lì, so if you have a power, consegna, PD support, type c charger, then you’re able to use that to charge the tablet as well. ok, so just a comment on this touchpad, while the size of it is alright. Purtroppo, it does not support Windows, Precisione, drivers and I find the accuracy with the finer movements to be a little fiddly it’s, not quite as good as I would like it and so far not ended really an enjoyable touchpad to use it’s very average. So I’ve done a little bit of typing now on this keyboard, and I must say it is actually really nice to type on and do like it and very firm. Naturalmente,, I just wish that we could prop it up that extra level, come ho detto prima, all right so time to check out the side firing speakers now. speriamo, they’re gon na have more volume and a bit of bass to them and not be as bad as the keynote speakers, so let’s test them out. ok, Va bene, so they’ve got some bass to them, che è grande, but they are lacking volume. They still should be. Quite a bit more louder than that, but they are.
Tuttavia, an improvement over the K, notes pathetic speakers that it had in there. So at least these are marginally better. ora, if you use something like a DX, Audio, enhancer or other software, you should be able to boost that volume up a bit and make it sound better and so I’m good news here for people that want to run Linux on here everything i’ve tested is working. So the brightness controls here for the screen, the audio controls the touchpad is working. The screen touch is also working everything wireless it’s, tutti il lavoro, which is good to see okay guys. So that is the K. Nota 8 there from audio cube and overall as a package. I feel yes, it is nice. The keyboard is very nice to type on it’s backlit, che è bello da vedere. Cuz often we don’t have backlit keyboards. Hardly ever on tablets. There’S been a few that I have seen, but not many touch pad mmm front barrel. Very poor don’t, like the touch pad no, not good it’s, just the finer movements are frustrating and annoying, Per esempio, highlighting text it’s just a bit of a nightmare. I didn’t like how I got really angry with it and I just used my mouse. I thought no grab your mouse plug that in, but then it comes to the problem with the ports you plug a mouse in with the adapter and you can’t plug in anything else. So you have to get yourself a Type C hub now, c'è, something of course that MacBook owners might be used to, but I feel they should have put at least one full size.
Usb 3 port on here at least worth that USB 3.1 type C port would have been great, so there’s a bit of a design floor. Nella mia unità, the micro SD card slot doesn’t quite line up correctly, so I managed to push that micro SD card. As you saw and behind the actual reader and get it stuck there, and luckily I managed to get it out. That is not good to happen at all. The other thing is the speakers aren’t really as loud as I would like them to be. They should be louder, but the screen brightness is really good. It’S fully laminated it’s a very nice panel with that higher resolution than just your typical, 1080p and it’s very obvious. When you have a look at it, close up that it’s a bit sharper, especially at thirteen point three inches. I feel that if we had 1080p that kind of size it wouldn’t be good, so it’s good to have gone with a 1440p screen deep blacks, good color reproduction and the touch accuracy and responsiveness. Also good. In my books there and maxing out around 415. Lux is great for this type of panel, so that’s really nice, that build quality overall is very decent as well with metal on the back and overall good package here, but the price of it as well. So I mean this is selling for about about 550 us at the moment on gearbest comm and that to me it’s just way too much.
Davvero. It should be about a hundred us less and perhaps that, even if it included the keyboard and the stylus would be a lot better now the stylus I don’t know whether I’m going to be buying that to check that out, but it should be very similar to The chewy HR 13 stylus and hopefully I will see you back in the channel with more up and coming reviews on tech from China. Thank you so much for watching bye.
