Huawei MatePad Pro 12.6 (2021) Unboxing and Hands-on
6. Now this one was unveiled to be huawei’s first tablet running harmony, os 2.0 and it’s. Also our first encounter with huawei’s new os and i’m sure there’s. A lot to unpack there, but first things first let’s check out the matepad pro 12.6 itself, so huawei sent us three boxes. We have the main star, of course, the huawei mate pad pro 12.6. Then we get this smart magnet keyboard and completing the set is the huawei m pencil, starting with the mate pad pro 12.6, as we lift the lid of the box we’re immediately greeted with the large tablet itself setting it aside for now, underneath we get two smaller Boxes, this box contains the sim ejector tool, usb type c cable and a 3.5 millimeter headphone jack adapter. Meanwhile, in the second box, we get the 40 watt power, brick quickly, checking out the magnetic keyboard, removing it from the box. We simply get some paperwork and the cool case slash keyboard right away and as for the small m pencil box upon opening, we get a smaller box with the paperwork and two extra replacement tips to begin. Let’S establish our bearings as our base point of reference. We’Ll be looking at the matepad pro 12.6 from its landscape orientation. Now the most important aspect of any tablet is its screen, and here we get a 12.6 inch oled display with a resolution of 2560×1600, giving us a nice 16×10 aspect, ratio which is generally said to be better for productivity.
That 2k resolution is very nice to have as a big display like this can definitely benefit from that extra sharpness and being an oled panel. We can expect nice colors and deep blacks. The entire front panel also looks really nice with the bezels kept as minimal as possible, it’s not quite edge to edge, but we really like the uniform size of the bezels, the top bezel by the way houses the 8 megapixel front camera now, moving to the left Side we get the red accent and power button and a pair of speaker grilles on the right. We have the usb type c port and another pair of speaker, grilles, making for a booming, quad, speaker setup, which are of course powered by harman kardon up top. Are the volume rocker and a few holes that we assume are microphones and finally, at the bottom we get the tray for a huawei nano memory card and possibly a nano sim card, depending on which model you may get for the back panel. We get this nice smooth, matte aluminum finish with nothing, but the protruding rectangular rear camera module, which contains a 13 megapixel main sensor, 8 megapixel ultrawide lens and a 3d time of flight sensor. Our unit is in the matte gray color way, but olive green is also available. If you want something a little bit more unique quickly going back to the accessories, the huawei smart magnetic keyboard is pretty much an essential if you’re planning to get any work done on the matepad pro the keyboard itself.
Isn’T anything super special, but will definitely be better than typing on the screen. The whole thing also acts as a protective case for your tablet and attaches with a pretty strong magnet. It also allows the mate pad pro to be tilted at a variety of angles. The m pencil is also pretty cool and will be a must have for those who want to do any sort of drawing or note taking the shape and weight is somewhat ergonomic and is easy to store, as it can magnetically attach to the side of the tablet. Going back to the tablet, let’s check out the internals it’s equipped with a kirin 9000e 5g cpu and mali g78 mp22 gpu. That is then paired with 8 gigabytes of ram and 256 gigabytes of ufs 3.1 internal storage and powering everything is a 10 050 milliamp hour. Lithium polymer battery that supports 40 watt fast charging for software. We get not android but harmony, os 2.. This is actually our first encounter with huawei’s newly minted os and for now we’re just showing you guys on screen what the ui looks like, but we do plan on doing a deeper dive in a separate video because there’s quite a lot to unpack here. So stay tuned for that, but that wraps it up for this quick. Look at the new huawei matepad pro 12.6 we’re, estimating pricing to be in the ballpark of 40 to 45, or maybe 50 000 pesos, which can be justified if it can prove to really be a pro tier tablet, which we will find out as we head into Doing our full review now what you guys think about the huawei matepad pro 12.
